  • THOROUGH | POSITIVE | ATTENTIVE | DEDICATED

I am an experienced and thorough reader, with a consistent and successful eye for detail. I focus significantly on plot, pacing and structural issues in your manuscript. I will always identify the originality and strong characteristics in your writing to help you enhance your further drafts, tailored to your uniqueness as an author and individual. Our enhanced communication ensures that your work will be attractive to agents and leverage reader interest to its full potential.

My work is about helping you retain your narrative voice, whilst improving the fluency of your writing. I work with you, as opposed to for you, and tie up all the loose ends for a perfectly polished document.

    How it works:

When you get in contact with me, we will discuss your vision for your manuscript and the things you want to prioritise when we work together. Additionally, we will talk about the weight of your text and your deadline. If you want to proceed with me looking over your work, then I'll get started on your free trial (see below!). After that, you'll decide if my editing style is complementary to your needs. If so, we discuss a quote, and move on to the fun stuff (feedbacking on your work!).

    Cost:

I offer a free trial of 1,000 words - where I feedback on your work as I would with a paying client. It will be thorough and detailed, and returned to you in a timely manner. This ensures that you can make an informed and subjective decision, over whether my feedback style is what you're looking for.

Following this, if you decide to continue, I charge by the word (@£0.008/word) so you know exactly how much you'll be charged prior to me undertaking the work. The word count charged does not include chapter titles.

By request, at either stage in our contact, I can also grant you access to the feedback document, so you can access my comments in real time. This can be really effective if you're stretched for time.

  • My poetry has been commissioned on a number of occasions by local organisations, on a variety of political and community themes. Two poems I wrote, ‘Vision’ and ‘Eye of the Storm,’ played a role in my receiving the Outstanding Community Contribution Award in 2023. 'Eye of the Storm' was also read at a local Remembrance Service to honor and recognise people's determination, compassion and unity, when faced with conflict and hardships.

If you are an organisation looking for a poem to represent your values and ethos, I can provide efficient communication and thoughtful writing to land you a piece of writing that perfectly epitomises your request. Poetry is a valuable and personable tool for advertising, and inciting an audience's interest - hence, this could be your business or organisation's next unique move toward public engagement.

  • Poetry is a personal art that can create a legacy. Preserving or celebrating a loved one in this art form, can produce a heartfelt and special result. If you want to work with me to craft a poem telling the story of a life, I would be more than happy to help. You get jurisdiction over everything: from the length to the poetic form, if you have anything particular in mind, and then we talk together about the memory that you'd like to turn into a keepsake. I do as many revisions as you like, to ensure your happiness.

    Cost:

The cost will vary depending on whether your ideal poem is a 4-line quatrain, or something more thorough that tells a story! Your bespoke quote will factor in the predetermined number of revisions, attentive and meaningful conversation we will have throughout the process, and your personalised poem.

I look forward to working with you and hearing your ideas.

  • I am a natural presenter, accustomed to giving speeches and presentations to audiences of any size or age group. I have experience with children from age 7 and above. I'm always excited to talk to people about the beauty of writing, my non-linear path into my career, why writing is a fulfilling pursuit, and more! I can tailor my presentations at your request, depending on the message you want to deliver to your group or audience. My sessions are interactive, well-structured, and provocative - getting everyone's creative minds working!

I work predominantly within Hertfordshire, but am open to going further afield. For charity organisations, no cost is attached to the visit. For schools, and professional organisations, price is determined by the length of the session required and the distance travelled.

    Say hi, here!

  • Would you, or someone you know, love to get to grips with the English Language a little better? Write, or sink your teeth into, a poem full of emotion and intention? I'm now offering help with the following, for people of any age and at any level of experience:

    - Creative Writing (including short- and long-form fiction, and poetry of any form)

    - Poetry Annotation and Dissection

    - Essay Writing and Structure

    - Book Review Writing and Structure

    - Text Analysis

Ideal for anyone who wants to engage with English in a meaningful way. If you're struggling to answer "why did the author say the sky was blue?" then I help to turn the question around. What about the sky commanded the author's attention? Why do people put pen to paper? How are they manipulating a reader? I'll teach you how to improve your analysis skills, as well as uncovering an intense relationship with words that you didn't know was possible.

I'm particularly interested in supporting you if you've already got a writing goal in mind, e.g. a never-before-seen idea for a novel, or a poem for your grandmother. I'll work with you to craft something tangible from your existing inspiration, and nurture your full potential.
