Recognition

R.F.Cholmeley Prize (2018)

One morning, I wrote an interpretative poem on the theme of discrimination. Coincidentally, auditions for the R.F. Cholmeley Reading Prize were that same day. I decided to enter with my poem, titled ‘Society’. To my surprise, I won first prize and had the opportunity to perform in front of an audience of over 300 people.

Academic Achievements (2021-2023)

I achieved Grade 9 in GCSE English Language and Literature, and an A in A Level English Language. I enjoyed studying play texts in GCSE Drama. As Deputy Head of School, I wrote and delivered numerous presentations and speeches. I received several annual awards for English Language throughout my education.

Welwyn Hatfield Outstanding Community Contribution Award (2023)

I collaborated with Welwyn Hatfield Town Council and the local YMCA to produce poetry for National Holocaust Memorial Day and Black History Month, respectively. For these poems, I was awarded the Welwyn Hatfield Outstanding Community Contribution Award in 2023.

Crane & Staples Award for Services to the Community (2023)

I am grateful to have received the Crane & Staples Award for Services to the Community in 2023. My poetry acts as an adhesive between my role within the community and my passion. I'm lucky I'm able to give a voice to community values.

Hertfordshire Libraries Centenary Poetry Competition (2025)

It was a pleasure to be awarded 3rd place in the 16-24 category of the Hertfordshire Libraries Centenary Poetry Competition. I love taking part in local creative initiatives like this, and it was an honour to be recognised.
